David Pang
The brainchild behind this new Stockbridge venture came to London from Hong Kong at the age of eight. His family have been restauranteurs for years, but it was always David's ambition to go out on his own. The Black Bean is a first venture outside the Pang family circle.
In creating The Black Bean, David Pang has combined two of his great loves, antiques-collecting and cookery - others are gardening and dogs (he has five). In coming to live in the Hampshire countryside this former city boy has turned country gent - a life he has come to relish.
David hopes that guests to The Black Bean will enjoy not only his good food and impeccable service but will take the time to admire his antiques - valuable hand-crafted furniture and curios from Thailand, Burma & China. If guests like them, then there is always the possibility of a sale!
